Key Takeaways

  • S-Docs joined the Pledge 1% movement to make giving back part of its company culture, alongside its work helping organizations improve document workflows.

  • Through Pledge 1%, companies commit a portion of staff time, product, profit, and/or equity to support their communities and create social impact.

  • S-Docs team members have supported local nonprofits through volunteer work, including serving meals and supporting organizations focused on homelessness and community care.

If you’re familiar with S-Docs, then you know we are in the business of improving. Improving workflows, improving time management, improving communication and more. But what you may not know is that we’re also dedicated to improving our communities and making an impact. It’s because of these commitments that we joined the Pledge 1% movement.

Where Document Automation Meets Giving Back

You may be asking yourself what a document automation software company like S-Docs has to do with giving back. Therein lies the Pledge 1% story. Co-founded by Salesforce.org, Atlassian, Rally for Impact, and Entrepreneurs Foundation of Colorado, Pledge 1% helps companies make giving back part of their culture. It's now a global movement that advocates for companies to make giving back a part of their corporate culture. The model is simple: companies commit 1% of staff time, product, profit, and/or equity to support causes and communities that matter to them. Today, Pledge 1% has grown into a global movement of more than 19,000 companies, with participating organizations in over 130 countries.

Putting S-Docs to Work For Good

We knew that our team had a desire and capacity to give back and they were looking for a way to make philanthropy a part of our corporate culture. We’ve focused our efforts on giving back to our local communities in a number of ways. Most recently, our Ann Arbor team volunteered their time to serve the homeless at the Shelter Association of Washtenaw County (SAWC), whose mission is to end homelessness in Washtenaw County.

“One of the many wonderful things I learned from my years at Salesforce was how business can make a positive impact in every community. I’m very proud that we’ve continued that tradition at S-Docs,” said Dan Pejanovic, CEO of S-Docs.

We’re excited to make an impact in whatever way we can. S-Docs team members have also spent time volunteering in local community kitchens, washing dishes from dinner service, where more than 100 people received meals, and preparing food for the next day. It’s rewarding for our employees and we’re looking forward to continuing to give our time to nonprofits that need it.

The Movement Toward Community and Social Change

Corporate responsibility has become an important part of how companies build trust with their customers, employees, and communities. For S-Docs, giving back is also a reflection of how we think about improvement: better workflows, better experiences, and stronger communities. We’re proud to be part of Pledge 1%, and if you’re an S-Docs customer, we hope you’re proud too. We wouldn’t be able to participate in a program like this without you.
